The establishment of the International Association for Excellence in Operations is mainly focused on the operation and management of enterprises, as well as the upgrading and transformation of technology. So as the association itself, we hope to promote and assist enterprises in transformation and upgrading through the combination of lean management, Six Sigma management, and intelligent manufacturing technology. We are such a non-profit organization, which is also a positioning of our organization.

Our organization is based in the Suzhou area and has conducted over 200 offline activities over the past seven years. The total number of participants reached over 20000. Through such offline communication, we can promote a common understanding of the matter of excellent operations, learn, exchange, and discuss these management methods and upgraded technologies together, so that we can apply these management methods and technologies to the sustained growth of our enterprise. This is the situation of our past activities.

This year is our seventh year of development in China. At the end of 2015, we made a plan for the second five-year plan, which includes establishing a research institute for the Excellence in Operations Association. We hope to conduct research on these management methods and technologies on the professional platform of the research institute. Because the association has two aspects, one is to promote and apply, and the other is to deepen research and innovation. So we need to establish a research institute to further research and explore methods or tools. Secondly, we need to expand the entire activity to a larger scale.

The spirit of craftsmanship emphasizes the pursuit of concentration and perfection in doing things, and the need to do things slowly and meticulously. As the current era of intelligence, rapid change is a characteristic, as the speed of technological development is very rapid in both big data and artificial intelligence. Against this backdrop, how can we inherit the spirit of craftsmanship? Therefore, we have come up with a "new spirit of craftsmanship". That is to say, as a company and an organization, the core point is to understand your customers, the definition or demands of value in your market, and to apply your technology and methods based on these demands and changes in the external environment.
