Born in January 1964. Professor, doctoral supervisor, director of the Robotics and Microsystems Research Center at Suzhou University, and dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Suzhou University. Winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, Robot Technology Theme Expert of the National "Tenth Five Year Plan" 863 Plan, Leader of the MEMS Major Special Overall Team of the National "Tenth Five Year Plan" 863 Plan, and Expert Group Expert in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Field of the National "Eleventh Five Year Plan" 863 Plan.

At present, he is the vice chairman of the China Association of Mechanical and Electrical Integration and the chairman of the Robotics Professional Committee, the director of the Robotics Professional Committee of the China Aerospace Society, the vice chairman of the Robotics Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, and the executive director of the China Micron Nanotechnology Society.

Mainly engaged in research on micro and nano manipulation robots and equipment, advanced robots and control, and electromechanical integration equipment.

Led and completed over 20 national "863" plan, 973 plan, and National Natural Science Foundation projects. Received 2 National Science and Technology Second Prizes and 3 Provincial Science and Technology First Prizes, published over 300 academic papers, and authorized more than 20 national invention patents.


 

Exclusive Interview with Sun Lining: Scientific Planning for the Layout of Robot Industrial Parks in Various Regions


At present, robot industry parks are like mushrooms after a rain. Due to the relatively weak technology and industrial foundation of robots in China compared to foreign countries, even in the current favorable policies, there are difficulties in talent introduction, investment attraction, and site selection of robot industry parks. Where should the development of future robot industry parks go? Therefore, Sohu Focus Industry New Area conducted an exclusive interview with Sun Lining, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Suzhou University, to understand the current layout and development status of domestic robot industry parks.

As a high-end industry, relying on the industry chain is the key

Sohu Focus Industry New Area: What are the considerations for industrial robot enterprises in the process of site selection? Which region in China is more suitable for the development of robot enterprises?

Sun Lining: Industrial robots are a relatively high-end industry. From a research and development perspective, enterprises often need to rely on a good industrial chain to better develop and achieve industrial maximization; From an application perspective, where are robots sold after production? It is definitely a place where robots are widely used, usually in economically developed regions where there is a relatively strong demand for industrial robot equipment. It is worth noting that the robot industry is basically blank in the Central Plains region, which is closely related to factors such as economic demand. However, advantageous regions will ultimately play a driving and radiating role, but it is only a matter of time nodes.

With years of development in the industrial robot industry, Jiangsu Province has first laid a very good industrial foundation, and the supporting system for robot parts is relatively complete. Secondly, the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions are concentrated areas for enterprises in China's automotive manufacturing, electronic manufacturing, home appliances, textile and clothing industries. These types of enterprises have a high demand for robot equipment, which is conducive to sales after production. In addition, the entire technology industrialization environment in Suzhou, government services, and investment from leading enterprises in the industry chain can promote the healthy development of the robot industry and achieve the transformation of robot achievements.

Rapid development under favorable policies

【 Sohu Focus Industry New Area 】: Currently, local governments are preparing to build and plan industrial robot industrial parks, with the intention of "taking a share" in the wave of Industry 4.0. What are your opinions and suggestions on the phenomenon of the "Great Leap Forward" in robot industry parks under favorable policies? What is the current scale of the national robot industry park?

  Since then, there has been a boom in the construction of robot industry parks in China. According to my statistics, there are currently over 50 robot industry alliances in China, and the number of industrial parks has exceeded 100. A large number of robot industrial parks have emerged in a short period of time, and competition is inevitable. However, I believe that this is a process from disorder to rational development. Local governments should continuously integrate, merge or eliminate some enterprises and parks, achieve the goal of several large enterprises and parks driving the development of their own bodies, components, and other aspects, and gradually return to a good and healthy development track.

In addition, local governments should remain calm while actively promoting the construction of robot industry parks. They should focus on the characteristics and planning of different industries, and create the industrialization of robot research and development from different perspectives. They should not blindly prevent the occurrence of the "Great Leap Forward" phenomenon.

【 Sohu Focus Industry New Area 】: Is it suitable to build robot industry parks in areas with many robot manufacturing companies?

Sun Lining: Places with a large number of robot manufacturing companies are relatively suitable for building robot industrial parks, but the key lies in whether they have a foundation in robotics talent, research and development, manufacturing, components, integration, and other aspects. The government formulates relevant policies to gather talents and technology, scientifically layout from the perspectives of industrial chain, innovation chain, and capital chain, adopt an innovation mechanism combining "government industry, academia, research and business", create robot industry parks, enhance the innovation and sustainable development capabilities of the robot industry, and form a healthy ecological environment for development.
